BOOST Study

We are seeking Cancer Survivors to participate in a study that examines daily activity in fatigued cancer survivors and the relationship of physical activity, stress and inflammation relative to a healthy control group.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Over the age of 21
  • Have been diagnosed with stage 0, I, II, or III cancer and within 10 years of cancer treatment (post-surgery or adjuvant therapy or radiation, with the exception of tamoxifen or other aromatase inhibitors)
  • Fatigue Score < 34 (to be evaluated by research team)
  • Own a cell-phone

Details of Participation: 

Participation involves one main visit (3 hours) to Rice University’s BioScience Research Collaborative (BRC) building and two follow-up visits at 4 (1-2 hour) and 12 weeks (3 hours). During the visit, we will collect information including basic vital signs (such as heart rate and blood pressure), mental health, stress levels, diet and physical activity. Furthermore, we will install a smartphone application on your device. You will be asked to use the application throughout the study period of 12 weeks. For your time and completion of study procedures, you will receive monetary compensation.
